RCB High will host a dinner theater choir production

CLARKSBURG, WV — The Robert C. Byrd High School Student Choir competed all season with their “Color My World” themed show.

RCB Show Choir is getting ready for upcoming performances.

On Saturday, March 26 at 6 p.m., the students will lead a dinner show for family, friends and fans for a small starter $10 fee. The show is a high-energy, 15-minute performance filled with song and dance with a handful of popular tunes.

“It’s so nice to finally be back and playing. Last year we really had nothing to do here, we were still too cautious I guess. So it’s nice to see these kids sing and dance again. You can see life coming back to them and we can’t wait to share that with our community,” said Mady McNemar, choir director at Robert C. Byrd High School.

With the theme “Color My World”, the show centers around a character trying to convince society that it’s okay to be who you are.

“We’ve been rehearsing every Tuesday and Thursday since September,” McNemar said. “Before, it was a course, and next year it will be a course again, but it was not a course during the day. So every Tuesday and Thursday since September, these kids have been coming here and shedding blood and sweat and tears in this show.

McNemar said there are students who sing and dance while others play instruments in the band and are also involved in behind-the-scenes production, bringing the show to life.

For the $10 dinner show admission, viewers will be treated to two pieces of fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, a drink and a wide variety of desserts. General admission for the show itself is $5 at the door.
