Hedingham Castle hosts a day of arts and theater performance

A PAIR of events take place in a historic castle as it continues its entertainment schedule.

Hedingham Castle is set to host an arts and theater event for the community.

First, an event for budding artists on August 14.

Paint Brush ‘n’ Bubbles Day offers a calm and creative morning in the castle, painting a waterfall scene.

No experience is necessary as the session is led by artists Anna and Charis who will guide people through the painting step by step.

A spokesperson described it as “the perfect opportunity to unleash your creativity – you might be surprised by the results”.

The event is priced at £42 per person, with all equipment and materials provided, plus tea and coffee on arrival and the finished canvas to take home to impress family and friends.

After the session, people can stay and explore the castle and its grounds.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 14.

On August 16, the Pantaloons theater company presents Much Ado About Nothing.

A spokesperson said: “There’s a lot to shout about in The Pantaloons’ version of Shakespeare’s timeless summer comedy about masks, music and mistaken identities.

“The boys are back from the war and it’s party time, but the devious Don John plans to spoil everyone’s fun with his perilous plots.

“Will young lovers Claudio and Hero fall under the spell of the cunning criminal?

“Will bickering Benedick and Beatrice ever admit they really love each other? Find out in this fast-paced, physical and fun new production.”

The cafe and bar will be open at the chateau in the evening and picnics are welcome.

The show is Tuesday, August 16, with doors open from 6 p.m. for the performance, which begins at 7 p.m.

The event is due to end around 10 p.m.
