Fly to Neverland during an outdoor theater performance in Buckingham

Buckingham City Council arranged the production of JM Barrie’s play by award-winning open-air theater Illyria.

It will be the first time Illyria, who celebrates her 30th birthday this year, will perform at Buckingham.

Artistic Director Oliver Gray said: “Over the past 30 years, we have presented top-notch outdoor theater to over a million people across the country.

Peter Pan will be played on the green in front of Buckingham Parish Church

“It’s a great opportunity for everyone to come together, enjoy the British summer and have fun.”

Councilor Robin Stuchbury, who chairs the Town Center and Events Committee, said: “Whoever you are, a show like Peter Pan is a fantastic event for your calendar.

“It will be filled with magic and mischief. And for the first time in an outdoor touring theater, there will be real flight!

“This promises to be a fantastic opportunity for Buckingham, especially after the success of last year’s outdoor theater show and the fun it has given people by bringing families together in a joint activity.”

Cllr Stuchbury added: “We are only able to run these events because of the work our staff members do within the Events team to help facilitate initiatives like outdoor theatre.

The show will take place on the Green near Buckingham Parish Church on Wednesday August 3, with one performance at 2.30pm and another at 6pm.

Peter Pan is presented by arrangement with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and Concord Theatricals Ltd on behalf of Samuel French Ltd.

Tickets cost adults £14, children/over 60s £10, family £45, under threes free. Visit
