A check for £365 was presented to Ryde-based Haylands Farm by members of the Bembridge Little Theater Club.

Each year the club chooses a good local cause to support, with Haylands Farm being chosen for 2020. However, without a show and therefore without donations due to the COVID pandemic, support for the charity continued in 2021.

The check represents raffles and bucket collections taken last year as the Bembridge Little Theater Club (BLTC), along with other theater groups across the UK, were able to restart their acclaimed shows. Readers may recall “Full Circle”, “A Bard in the Hand”, and “Nunsense”, all of which played to large, grateful audiences and garnered wonderful reviews.

This year BLTC will be supporting not 1 but 2 great local causes, with raffle and fundraising funds going to the Isle of Wight Prostate Cancer Support Group and the public being invited to bring items to donate to Isle of Wight Food Bank.

If you’d like to support these bands and enjoy a jaw-dropping show, BLTC will stage Noel Coward’s hilarious and beautifully scripted “Blithe Spirit” which premieres May 12 at Bembridge Village Hall. Ahead of that, BLTC member Hanna Nixon will perform her one-woman show “An Evening with Judy Garland” at Village Hall on April 10, with proceeds going to the theater group.

Tickets for both shows are available from the BLTC box office on 07841 950261.
