“I decided to put a positive spin on this and would appreciate it if someone who was in the theater last night would tell me that I gave such an engaging and electrifying performance that my body couldn’t handle it and check it out.

“That being said, apparently you’re supposed to do the full show and not just three quarters. So I’ll be back with a vengeance tomorrow night.

‘It’s up to the incredible team at the theater and my wonderful cast mates for being so lovely.

Phew! Fortunately, Taron will

“But I especially wanted to say thank you to Joel Harper Jackson who stepped in to do the last part of the piece.

A statement from the play’s production released last night said: “During the first preview of Mike Bartlett’s play Cock at the Ambassadors Theatre, Taron Egerton passed out towards the end of the performance.

“A doctor who was in the audience attended to Taron immediately after the incident, and while he was feeling well, it was decided that Taron’s stunt double Joel Harper-Jackson would continue in the role to complete the performance.”

Cock centers on a gay man who is torn apart by his same-sex relationship when he falls in love with a woman he spots on his drive through London, and after having sex with her he struggles to decide who he wants to be with.
